Hello, do sit down. And lets get acquainted.
I'm the mother of four grown children. I have fourteen grand children and, yes, they are all adorable, perfect little darlings. Just ask them, they'll tell you, "it's so easy to manipulate grandma".
My interests are visitors. I love company, it's so good of you to drop by. Oh, and please, sign my guestbook before you leave so I can show all my friends that you really did stop by. You know, they never believe it when you tell them celebrities dropped in for tea. And anyone who comes to my home is a celebrity.
I'm also interested in education, however, at my age, one realizes the best education is between the worn pages of your own Bible. I love to learn but only from the best teachers, those who've "been there, done that".
Old Books. You wouldn't believe my book shelves, my loving husband builds them and I fill them. My books take up a lot of room because I like mysteries, resource and reference books, recipe books, herbals, history, house decorating, how to's and hints just to name a few.
I enjoy painting but I'm a beginner. I've played around with acrylics and water colors. Next I'm going to try oils.
Sewing proved to be beyond my capabilities so I gave it up years ago. Along with chocolate, sugar, margarine, and all that other stuff that is so bad for you. I'd like to give up preservatives but I fear I'd starve.
Music of all kinds is something else I enjoy tremendously. Except heavy metal and, yes, I know it could be a sign of my age. I remember my parents hated rock-n-roll. Too loud they said, too much yelling.
And, of course, my family is my largest interest. I've been married to a great guy since, let me see, back in '66 was when we tied the knot. I'd love to say, "and we lived happily ever after" but there is no such thing. The first 10 years were spent getting acquainted. You know, lots of yelling and hollering, throwing things (I quit that after I realized I was breaking my own beautiful things). As I recall there was a lot of general wrestling around until the potter was through molding us and then we fit quite nicely under one roof.
I'm an animal lover. Especially large dogs. I don't support abortion, life is far, far too precious. As a matter of interest, I heard a Catholic nun tell a story about someone asking, "Why didn't God send someone to cure cancer?" And a nun answered, "God may have sent someone who had the answer to curing cancer but that baby was probably one of the millions of babies that have been aborted". Now that is a sobering thought.
Now where was I? Ah, yes, dogs, I own one dog and one cat. The cat, Cong, is all black and soooo spoiled. He's an outdoor cat and every morning can be found hanging from the kitchen window screen yowling for food. So before daylight I'm out in PJ's, in the freezing cold feeding the cat. So if you are looking for me between 3 and 4 a.m. you'll find me on the back porch looking like a frozen statue of the Mona Lisa, grown old! Can't Cong at least wait till I'm dressed and awake? No. Because I told you, he's spoiled.
Kid is our yellow Lab, I could write a book about him (no, I promise, I won't) and he's only 2 years old. When he was so small he didn't even reach my ankles, we built him a play pen to keep him safe. Right. I put him in the pen in the nice sunlight and he'd find a way out in less than 2 minutes flat (must be some kinda world record)! Disciplined? O, my dear, that is so laughable, you can't even get his attention much less discipline him. If there is company in the house or children he turns into a live wire literally, he never stops moving. Wiggling, jumping, tail slappy everything in sight, you'd have to see it to believe anything could move like that, such energy! Gads, I could use a tinsy bit of that energy!!! And boy can he play soccer, you just try to get that ball from him!
Well, enough about my nonsense, let me show you around.

Right through these doors we have the library,
you'll find Mayomay's Poetry Corner here.

Oh, yes, by all means, do check out our game room.
I don't play too much on the Internet but I do like these games.
There's no downloading, a wonderful place for you and your family to have fun.

Ponderings? Ponderings? Oh, yes, your referring to the site I built for the Lord,
actually it was my very first site and written down
long before I ever heard of the Internet. Sure we can step inside
and take a look, if it would please you.

This is where I go for blessings or to send blessings to my friends!
Everyone you love should be blessed everyday!

Oh, I so love a good mystery don't you? I just love "Murder She Wrote".
Oh, well, these doors lead to a different kind of Mysteries,
'Biblical Mysteries'.

These doors lead to my secret garden, it is just full of Hints and Tips,
even has some from 118 years ago!
Oh, yes and if you are like me you just have to have a checklist for everything
and there is link on the secret garden to 'Checklists'.

Let me show you my pride and joy. It's my curio cabinet where I keep all
gifts and awards that people have so generously bestowed upon this site.
I keep it all dusted and tidied up so I can show it to company.
Or just pop in to listen to mairzydoats on the midi player.

Oh, dear, I mustn't forget to present you with a little gift since you've
been so kind and dropped in to see me. They are right through this door.
Please just help yourself. A lot of love went into these gifts.
And yes it is the Proverbs Women site but I made the gifts. *laugh*
